Hey kids!! Do you like gratuitous violence? Nudity and sexual themes? Hideous monsters with faces not even a mother could love? (If not, we’re actually really curious as to how you ended up on this page.) In any case, the following is for mature audiences only…
You may have read about our recent excursion to Tromaville in a previous article, where we got the opportunity to get a glimpse behind the delightfully surreal scenes. Now, we’re SUPER excited to announce that Troma is coming to ours for an event that you, too, can be a part of! Excitement! Intrigue! Synonyms!
Come Have A Troma-tic Experience Here At Abracadabra NYC!
From 1pm-3pm on May 27th, 2023, Troma co-founder Lloyd Kaufman and associate producer Garrett Sullivan will be doing signings in-store at 19 West 21st Street, New York, NY 10010! There’s also gonna be 8 x 10’s, DVDs, t-shirts, and other Troma goodies for sale, so don’t miss it!
By the way, did we mention this event is FREE??? You can waltz right in for this once in a lifetime opportunity, and the cops can’t stop you. Actually, it’s free to enter the store every day. However, we strongly recommend coming in on May 27th in particular. While you are visiting, grab yourself a Toxic Avenger Mask, and get it signed by Troma Entertainments’ very own Lloyd Kaufman!
Wait, What’s Troma? What’s A Lloyd Kaufman?
Lloyd Kaufman, alongside producer Michael Herz, co-founded Troma Entertainment in 1974. The two produced and distributed a number of low budget comedy films, supplemented by Kaufman’s work on movies such as Rocky and Saturday Night Fever. In 1985, they reached mainstream success with The Toxic Avenger; which has since become a cult classic. This marked Troma’s shift into the horror genre, eventually establishing their signature cinematic blend of gore, sex, violence, and monsters unlike anything you’ve seen before. There should be literally no question about why this appeals to us.
