Before the Oscars kick off in March, you can celebrate Wicked by bringing it home when it releases on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD February 4th, 2025. The 2024 musical blockbuster hit from director Jon M. Chu, adapted from the Broadway show of the same name, has had a massive last couple months, rounding out the end of last year to be one of the biggest films at the box office despite only releasing in November.
Both the 4K and Blu-ray released will include the theatrical version of the film, along with a sing-along edition for viewers to enjoy. Additional features include a slew of deleted and extended scenes, a making of featurette, and two separate commentary tracks from Chu and stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
And if that isn’t enough, there is also a Limited Edition Steelbook, and a Limited Edition Giftset being released as the ultimate collector’s item for any massive Wicked fan.
Wicked follows the untold story of the witches of Oz, featuring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a misunderstood witch with green skin on the cusp of discovering her powers, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, a privileged and ambitious young woman who is yet to find her true heart. Their journey begins at Shiz University in the mystical Land of Oz, where they develop a deep and unlikely friendship. This bond is tested when they encounter The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, played by Jeff Goldblum, leading their lives down divergent paths.
The star-studded cast includes Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Ethan Slater as Boq, and Marissa Bode as Nessarose, with the first part of the film adaptation released on November 22, 2024, and its sequel, Wicked: For Good, scheduled for November 21, 2025.
